Mondo Got Bounty’d by Bish, Bish Got Bounty’d by Marcel: The Circle of Chips Is Unbroken

In the twenty-plus year history of the Poker In The Wood League, many things have happened. This is about bounties. Specifically, a chain of them. Specifically, one the Lore Committee has elected to formally record because it was weird and we liked it.

The Chain, as It Unfolded

Step one: Mondo had a bounty on his head. (Why? He keeps finishing well. The league put 🦪 20 Clams on him as a consequence of being good at poker, which makes economists cry but makes the Flock happy.)

Step two: Bish collected the Mondo bounty. +20 points. Bish did it without ceremony, receiving his extra points on top of his 4th-place finish for a total of 52. Professional.

Step three: Bish had a bounty on his head too. (Same energy. Bish is also good at poker.)

Step four: Marcel collected the Bish bounty. +20 points. Turning his 12th-place finish into something materially less depressing.

Result: Mondo → Bish → Marcel. Three players. Forty dollars distributed. Zero planning.

Why the Lore Committee Is Recording This

The Circle of Chips represents a fully-connected bounty relay in which player A’s elimination funded player B’s night, and player B’s elimination funded player C’s night, within the same tournament. This is not documented in any prior season record. The Lore Committee would like everyone to know that this is what happens when you have a Lore Committee: things get written down.

Mondo: 3rd in 2026, 236 pts. Bish: 2nd, 261 pts. Marcel: 13th, 153 pts. The Circle is unbroken. The Committee has moved on.

⚠️ League Safety Warning:
Do not reheat pizza in the cardboard box in the oven.
The committee has already learned this lesson once.
