Terry’s 68-Point Night Causes Donkey Council to Enter Emergency Session That It Did Not Have Scheduled
SONORA, CA — The Donkey Council entered emergency session Thursday night following Terry’s 68-point, 2nd-place finish at the June 26 Double Points Night, in which he also collected a Tim bounty, rose to 7th in the season standings with 208 points, and described his evening as “yeah, it went well,” which council members described as “serene.” They found it troubling.
“Serene Terry is playing good poker,” said one Council member. “Good poker is a problem for the rest of us. We convened.”
Current 2026 Standings (Top 7)
- Tim — 294 pts 👑
- Bish — 261
- Mondo — 236
- Mark — 228
- Jose — 223
- Marland — 221
- Terry — 208 ⬆️ (from 11th)
What the Council Is Worried About
Terry rose from 11th to 7th in one night. If he performs similarly over the next four tournaments, he will have closed a significant portion of the gap to the top five. “Is that long?” asked one Council member. “Four tournaments feels not that long.” It is eight weeks. The Council is now aware of this.
Terry’s Response
Terry was not informed of the emergency session. Asked about his evening, he said: “Yeah, it went well.”
The Council found this unsettling. It is working on a formal name for what Terry is doing. Current options: “Lurking,” “Ascending,” “Running Quietly Hot,” and “The Terry Thing.” No vote has been taken. The Council remains in session.
